The lesson plans are written for period schedule how hard is it too teach using these lessons on block?

Answer to person A: This is exactly how I teach it. The lesson planning flow runs the same. Sometimes I cut things, sometimes I add things but they are minor changes that I make as I read my students and their level of engagement on the task at hand. I like having it planned this way because it keeps the activities at a more manageable time frame and on Block it works out easier. I have taught it on period as well. I always felt as though I was rushing everything.

Answer to Person B:
I currently teach in 86 minute blocks. My approach is to get as far as I can each day. I “read” my students to determine what exactly happens in class each day. I basically start off by printing all of the worksheets/activities I need for the week. I begin with the 50 minute lesson plan and supplement it based on how much time is left after getting through the “50 minute” plan. Sometimes we will get to the bell ringer for the next day sometimes we will have extra lab time it really just depends on how the students are doing. Are they engaged and on task? Do we need to pause and reteach? Answers to these questions help determine what happens next in my class.
